My Journey

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

The last 5 1/2 years of my life besides having babies, I have not taken so much as 2-3 days away from the gym. Even when I did have my babies I went back to the gym before doctors recommendations and it cost me.

Going to the gym has been my one constant no matter what life threw at me.

I’m not saying that as “hey look at me and what I did.”

Getting that routine and habit down was so hard!!!

The first couple years I put my body through a lot just trying to get rid of baby weight and the number on the scale I thought I should be at and couldn’t get too again.

It wasn’t healthy, and I went overboard on working out, and would spend too much time in the gym doing not one but at times THREE one hour high intensity cardio classes back to back. AND I HATED CARDIO!

I spent so much time eating so clean and in my opinion miserable. Eating meat with no seasoning or sauce, salad with no cheese or dressing, beans, vegetables, all keeping it as “bland” as possible. My husband considered what I ate “rabbit food.”

I thought because I worked out and didn’t eat bad foods for me I should get the results I wanted.

After doing that for a few years and not getting the body results I wanted I went to the doctor about it. They did lab work and I got diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease.

Hashimoto’s is an autoimmune disorder that causes under active thyroid. My body stopped producing enough thyroid hormones on its own. I was always tired, my hair was falling out, my mind was frazzled, I could NOT get the baby weight off.

I was so moody. I would just gain weight the more I worked out and I lived with that brain fog over me. I went to the doctor and got put on a medication that every couple months the dosage would get doubled. The medication overall made me feel better, not realizing the medication was just a mask and wasn’t treating the source.

So many underlying health symptoms, autoimmune disorders we ignore or sum up to just growing up. I summed it up as mom life, or work life. Before I got put on medications (because I didn’t know any better).

I wish I would have been pointed to nutrition and learned my body has a fuel it needs to be thrive.

The root problem was I self sabotaged my own body by doing things I thought was healthy and good for me. I masked my symptoms when the underlying issue was I just needed a balanced diet. Not juice cleanses, fad diets, non stop working out, eliminating carbs or my favorite foods.

I believed many myths or things I read on google because we don’t know what we don’t know. In a way I was forced into learning more about my body and how to better take care of it. My goal regardless is to help educate women how to live a healthy lifestyle that is easily sustainable, to help them build confidence, and feel better in their own skin. While finally getting the results they have been trying so hard to achieve.

The last three years I have invested in myself on licensing, certificates, coaching, testing to learn more about my body and how to better take care of it.

Spending time researching autoimmune diseases, hormone imbalances, and how FOOD can solve so many of that in a natural way. And not until THEN did I actually start…. working out LESS! eating food I LIKED MORE AND GOT THE RESULTS I ACTUALLY wanted! I have been diagnosed with autoimmune diseases, been on medication after medication, and until doing this research, studying and applying it have my numbers moved toward recovery on their own. I have lived this out consistently in my life and experienced the results. This has been a dream of mine for a very long time, and I am so grateful for the huge impact I know is already helping many women. My goal is to help you create a healthy lifestyle you will be able to sustain on your own. But every journey starts with a single step, this is my step. If you choose to be apart of this journey and for all of the steps to come. I am so thankful and excited to work with you and get to know you personally! In Health and Happiness, Kim S.
